Why We Choose Non-Homogenized Milk

At Redstone Children's Academy, we strive to provide the best possible care for your little ones. This extends far beyond playtime and naptime – it includes the food we serve! That's why we're proud to offer non-homogenized milk as a healthy and delicious beverage option for our growing stars.

You might be wondering, "What's the difference between regular milk and non-homogenized milk?" Here's the scoop! Regular milk goes through a process called homogenization, which breaks down the milk fat into tiny particles and distributes them evenly throughout the milk. This creates a uniform consistency, but some believe it may also affect the taste and nutritional value.

Non-homogenized milk, on the other hand, skips this homogenization step. The cream naturally rises to the top, creating a richer, creamier taste that many find superior. But the benefits go beyond taste buds!

Important to Note: While we offer non-homogenized milk, it's important to clarify that it is still pasteurized. Pasteurization is a process that heats milk to kill harmful bacteria, ensuring the safety of our young children.

Here's why Redstone chooses non-homogenized milk:

Natural Goodness: Non-homogenized milk retains the natural fat globules found in milk, which may contain important nutrients like vitamins A and D.

Easier Digestion: Some studies suggest that the larger fat particles in non-homogenized milk may be easier for young children to digest.

Full Flavor Experience: The cream layer adds a delightful richness and depth of flavor that can be missing in homogenized milk.

Offering non-homogenized, pasteurized milk is just one way we show our commitment to your child's health. Have questions about non-homogenized milk, pasteurization, or our menu? Give us a call! Our friendly staff is always happy to chat.
