Kindergarten

this month's theme:

This month, your child’s imagination will take flight as they listen to fables and folktales that have been shared for many generations. They will create art, write their own endings and play games that invite them to jump inside the stories. Watch your child’s love for storytelling grow as they explore characters and tales from around the world.

A LETTER FROM Ms. Destiny

Hello Master Movers Families!

Welcome to another exciting month in the Master Movers classroom! As we dive into August, we’re thrilled to share our curriculum themes for the month with you. Each week, we’ve designed engaging activities that will help our little movers grow, learn, and have fun. Here’s a sneak peek into what we have planned for the coming weeks:

Week 1: Wellness and Staying Healthy

August 5th - August 9th

This week, we’ll focus on the importance of wellness and staying healthy. Through playful activities and stories, we’ll teach the toddlers about good hygiene, nutritious foods, and simple exercises. Our aim is to make healthy habits fun and exciting for our little ones!

Activities Include:

  • Healthy Snack Time: We’ll explore colorful fruits and veggies in a tasting session.

  • Hygiene Fun: Interactive games on handwashing and brushing teeth.

  • Movin’ and Groovin’: Simple exercises that get everyone moving and feeling great.

Week 2: Words that Rhyme

August 12th - August 16th

This week, we’ll dive into the fun world of rhyming words. Rhyming helps with language development and phonemic awareness, and we’ll make it enjoyable with songs, games, and storytelling.

Activities Include:

  • Rhyme Time Songs: Singing songs with catchy rhyming words.

  • Rhyme Matching Game: A fun activity where kids match pictures with rhyming words.

  • Story Time: Reading rhyming books and poems that are sure to entertain.

Week 3: Setting Goals and Pursuing Them

August 19th - August 23th

This week’s focus is on setting small goals and understanding the steps to achieve them. We’ll introduce the concept of goals through simple, age-appropriate activities and encourage perseverance in a supportive environment.

Activities Include:

  • Goal Setting Crafts: Creating a “My Goals” poster with achievable targets.

  • Mini Challenges: Fun tasks that teach the importance of effort and persistence.

  • Success Stories: Reading stories about characters who set goals and worked hard to achieve them.

Week 4: Exploring Shapes & Aesop's Fables

August 26th - September 1st

In our final week of the month, we’ll explore different shapes and read Aesop’s Fables. We’ll also incorporate a playful activity involving getting “caught in nets” to teach spatial awareness and problem-solving.

Activities Include:

  • Shape Scavenger Hunt: Finding and identifying shapes around the classroom.

  • Shape Crafts: Creating art projects using various shapes.

  • Fable Time: Reading selected Aesop’s Fables with lessons about kindness, honesty, and cleverness.

  • Caught in Nets: A fun, interactive game that involves navigating a “net” to develop spatial awareness.

We’re excited for another wonderful month of learning and discovery with your toddlers. If you have any questions or need further information, don’t hesitate to reach out. Thank you for being a part of the Master Movers family. Let’s make August a fantastic month of growth and fun!
