A LETTER FROM MRS. K
Dear Parents,
We are so excited to be starting this new school year with all our new families. This summer was such an amazing time with our friends and they learned so much. We had a whole month learning all about each other and our senses and July was all about the world around us. We got to work with nature and create some amazing summer projects. The kids were so proud of learning our bible verses for each month and loved to show off that they could say them alone.
This first month back in school is going to have some exciting new activities. We will be learning all about fables and stories from around the world. We will be studying lots of stories from Aesop’s Fables. Our bible story this month is about Zacchaeus. Our bible lessons each day will focus on this to help the children gain a full understanding of the bible story. Our new bible verse for the month is Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment (Proverbs 12:19). All the kids are so proud once they learn the verse by heart and love to show everyone. We are ready for an amazing school year full of learning, adventure, fun, and God!

telling
stories:
Here are a few ideas to encourage your child's imagination and storytelling skills:
Gather toys and stuffed animals with your child. Invite them to choose a few favorites, then make up a story together. Give the characters names, choose a setting and pick a good character trait to discuss in your story. Take turns making the characters talk to one another in silly voices as you practice communication skills. Go back and retell the story with a different ending or more characters. Put on a puppet show if your child wishes to share your story with others.
